about

This collection of music by composer and producer
Elliott Sharp presents a variety of pieces for film,
theater, and installation from 1996 to the present for
directors Dael Orlandersmith, Toni Dove, Jonathan
Berman, and Brad Rothschild. Using traditional electric
guitars (though sometimes played in non-traditional
ways) but also classical guitar, the oud-like glissentar,
bass, synthesizers, drum machines, and a circuit-bent
Speak n' Spell, Sharp creates sonic abstractions as
well as exploring the song forms of American rock of
the 50's, 60's and 70's. For the score to a documentary
about Holocaust survivor Vera Goldmann, Sharp draws
on classical harmonies and textures.
